Aircraft Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Coast
A helicopter hovering near a crowded southern California beach unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.
Footage posted on social media show the chopper beginning to twirl over the shoreline then descending near the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters stated five persons were rushed to the hospital including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were hurt. Information on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
