Bondi Discloses Investigation into Trump Adversaries and Epstein Ties

This past Friday, Pam Bondi assigned interim US attorney Jay Clayton to head an inquiry into political adversaries of the President and their connections with the late financier. This action came just after the president ordered her to begin the probe.

During an announcement, the Attorney General praised Jay Clayton as “one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country”. She stated, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”

This action appears to contradict a recent memorandum from justice department officials which indicated that documents related to Epstein lacked grounds for additional investigations. As per the document, investigators “lacked sufficient evidence to pursue cases against other parties.”

Trump Calls for Scrutiny of Democrats in the Epstein Matter

This news comes as growing pressure from the president on congressional Republicans to oppose the public disclosure of Epstein-related documents ahead of an upcoming House vote in the coming days. Many Republicans are expected to support the release.

Newly public communications from Epstein have highlighted Trump’s previous connections with the convicted criminal, revealing details that he was more aware of Epstein’s actions than earlier acknowledged.

That same day, the President announced he would ask the DOJ to examine Epstein’s ties with Democrats, including Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also described the “Epstein situation” as a “scam”.
