A Palestinian-American adolescent having endured a nine-month period in imprisonment by Israel without being charged has been freed.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention this past winter within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

United States authorities expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.

Now sixteen years old, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, relatives told the media.

Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we are focused on getting Mohammed prompt healthcare he needs after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions for months."

American authorities said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," it added.

A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to US authorities and the White House, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.

The father, with four children operating an ice cream shop based in Tampa, previously claimed Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.

The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son since February, and only heard what had happened to him via legal paperwork.

Mohammed was held without charge in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.

The facility also contains mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities and homicide.

Approximately several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, as well as the United Nations, report instances of physical abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts seeking justice for their relative Sayfollah Musallet.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials succumbed to assault by radical settlers amid clashes during summer.

Initially, defense forces stated authorities were looking into accounts of a Palestinian had been killed.

Both young men collaborated in the family ice cream shop from Tampa.

No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We anticipate United States leadership to ensure our family's safety," Mr Kadur said.
