Paramount Skydance Set to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 American Positions – News

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to begin mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 positions in the United States under a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August with a value of $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to disclose complete information in its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Prior news stated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

As of December 2024, Paramount had about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance has not yet commented regarding the report.
